This project for an international medical supplies company involved the creative re-use of an iconic, yet redundant former Motorola manufacturing facility. The design sought to retain and reuse as much of the existing building as possible, while providing new accommodation to suit the very different user requirements of the client, with scope for future expansion and development. This included the construction of a new distribution warehouse building and significant re-fitting of office space to provide a full range of HQ facilities; office, training and hospitality accommodation, along with associated servicing and landscaping works. In total, up to 40,000 ft2 office and 300,000 ft2 warehouse space. While a director with Angus Meek Architects, Spencer was responsible for the delivery of the concept and planning design, tender and construction information.
