Located close to Spitalfields Market and Liverpool Street Station, 288 Bishopsgate was purpose designed and constructed as serviced office suites to provide flexible space for a range of different businesses and individuals.
The compact design is planned around a ‘double stair’ which provides the required alternative means of escape occupying less valuable space than that required for two stairs. Floor to ceiling glazing provides great quality of light. The building is conceived as a city pavilion in close proximity to much larger office buildings close by. While Project Architect at Foggo Associates, working with the practice’s in house multidisciplinary team, Spencer was responsible for the design from concept through to construction and completion. The steel framed building features a fully panelised cladding system which was fabricated in Germany prior to being installed in full story height sections, each 7.5m long. This provided an extremely high level of quality control, finish and weathering performance.
