The site for this mixed use redevelopment of a contaminated site of the edge of a picturesque Somerset village. Our client currently operates an Airstream caravan refurbishment business on the land, and wishes to construct a new studio and workshop together with a new family house to meet Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. At the centre of the plan is a terrace of three smaller houses which share a common external space to engender a sense of neighbourhood which would be sold to help fund the development. Incorporating a new bus stop, the proposal is designed to be sensitive and responsive to the site, the wider landscape and the local vernacular and development pattern
